About Kissing Other People

In “Kissing Other People,” Lennon Stella explores the themes of moving on after a breakup. She asks herself how she knows she is over her ex, and answer the question too: if you’re able to kiss other people without guilt, then you’ve moved on. Stella wrote the song at a writing camp in Mexico, after having a conversation with Carolina Ailin about “feeling like I was at a place where I could kiss someone else and not feel sorry about it.” The song is the first single off her debut album. She first teased the song in an Instagram post, before announcing her 2020 European tour. Carolina Ailin and I were in an Uber driving home from a club and she asked me about boys. I said to her something about finally feeling like I was at a place where I could kiss someone else and not feel sorry about it or feel like I was doing something wrong.
