It was written and produced by Jackson and Swedish duo Bag & Arnthor (consisting of Anders Bagge and Arnthor Birgisson), with additional writing from Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Virgin Records released the song on May 17, 2004, as the album's third single. "All Nite (Don't Stop)" is an electro-funk and house song that contains elements of grime, samba, Latin, dance-pop, ambient techno, and dancehall. Jackson sings the song in a breathy falsetto, with lyrical metaphors comparing various actions to dancing.
