On her latest single "Lonely," pop singer Noah Cyrus decided to get real with her audience about her struggles with depression and internal anxiety. And in her new video, the star made a move to try and help others who may need it. On Monday (Oct. 7), Cyrus released the official video for "Lonely," which shows her, dressed in all black, in a black-and-white void, dealing with her emotions. As the video (directed by Symone Ridgell and Cyrus) continues, a group of chorus members gradually appear, all of whom the singer chose from the Los Angeles LGBT Center's Music Program. Throughout the video, the chorus continually reaches out to try and help Cyrus, but she doesn't seem to understand that they're there. At one point, she slowly floats into the air, as the choir members reach for her. "Help me, oh, please, someone help me," she sings. "I don't care, anyone, anything/ 'Cause I'm so sick of being so lonely." In a statement, Cyrus said that she knows that “sometimes there can be dozens of people around you but you still feel lonely. I wanted the video to show what it could really feel like.†Co-director Ridgell added that the video is about finding a community wo will support you. "It's about vulnerability, trauma and dropping your facade, but also about human connection and finding strength among others (one of the many reasons it felt particularly powerful to work with the Los Angeles LGBT Center),†she said. “Lyrically, Noah's music is always strikingly raw, and for this song, a video that reflects that is the only kind that could be justified to accompany it.â€
