“Fun Tonight” is a song about battling against a negative mindset. In the song, Gaga sings about her anxiety and how it doesn’t let her be positive. Throughout the song, she also states about her depression and how her mind makes her think that there’s nobody to help her. Fun tonight is the sixth song off of Lady Gaga’s highly anticipated sixth studio album Chromatica. The song was also rumored to be about Gaga’s ex-fiancé Christian Carino. But Gaga later clarified that the song is about herself.

She rose to prominence the following year with her debut album, the electropop record The Fame, and its singles "Just Dance", "Poker Face", and "Paparazzi". The album was later reissued to include the EP The Fame Monster (2009), which yielded the successful singles "Bad Romance", "Telephone", and "Alejandro".
