About Edge of Darkness

"Edge of Darkness" is the second track from Greta Van Fleet's double EP, From the Fires. The song was one of the newest from the EP, written about nine months before its official release, around January/February. The song's sound was described as blues rock, with "bouncing bass", "backbone drums", "inpressive" guitar solos and stretching vocals.

Lirically, it finds the band longing for peace, love and meaning. About its meaning, Josh Kiszka explained it's "the bravery behind the compassion that we feel for each other. One of the lyrics is I've got love in my heart, and I think, as a global community, it's a spiritual thing to share all that we have together. Giving love is giving power." In an interview to PopMatters, Jake Kiszka was asked about the meaning of the line "All my brothers we stand for the peace of the land", he explained, "I guess it's subject to interpretation. But I think the initial idea with that was that, as brothers we stand for the peace of land. And that was for the good of the Earth, and for man. And all those lessons of peace, and love, and unity, that was something that he had said. And it was sort of advocating that peace, love, and unity."
